I’m Arkya Chatterjee, a sophomore at the Department of Physics of IIT Bombay.
I hail from the east Indian city of Kolkata, known popularly as the city of joy.
If you meet me, I’ll probably come off as kind of an introvert, but once you get to know me, well, I’ll probably still be the same. :P
Physics fascinates me like nothing else. I’m one of those people who, if given a choice between reading a good book of physics, and doing, well, anything else, would think the answer to be obvious.
My current interests include nonlinear dynamical problems (especially in soft matter theory), and computational approaches to solving such problems. I am also keen on learning more about quantum computing. Apart from these, I’m interested in the various interesting applications of machine learning, especially in analysis of large scale data.
I love reading all sorts of books (my latest favourite being A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini), and watching particularly intriguing movies.
Oh yeah, and I’m a big-time Barca fan.

Some of my Favourite Quotes:
"Two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I’m not sure about the universe." Albert Einstein
"Stay hungry, stay foolish." Steve Jobs
"I was born not knowing and have had only a little time to change that here and there." Richard Feynman
